Had some nice PRS news that my production music is regularly on BBC1 Countryfile, Gone Fishing and the like along with usages on every digital channel in the UK.
Just drawing y’all attention to this fab song written by Matthew Harvey. In fact check out the whole album. I did the string arrangements on it which were very fun to do. (Only You, Twist My Words and Whatever Happens Next). Lots of filigree and some add4s (Vince Mendoza would hopefully approve)! FABULOUS playing and singing.
Some nice placements on BBC Countryfile from 27th November – https://www.reliable-source.co.uk/album/9589489
as well as First Dawn on Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, Gardeners World and Susan Calman’s Grand Days Out.
my music for Wayfair.co.uk’s TVC were placed on virtually every channel in the UK in 2022. So – that’s nice!
Excited to have been granted licensing to do arrangements and adaptations of Both Sides Now (Joni Mitchell) String quintet and vocal and Fields of Gold (strings, harp, gtr, voice sop sax) (Sting) amongst some others for Rob Lewis and Convivium Records. This is all for Luca Brugnoli’s debut album. Recording was in December and January at Charterhouse Chapel.
You can find a plethora of Star Wars reductions and analyses on my YouTube channel along with useful advice for composers and orchestrators etc, analytical techniques.
Having completed The Phantom Menace, our new season has begun exploring the score from The Empire Strikes Back (film version). YouTube Channel here
I also have a patreon page where patrons are able to view and download the analytical scores that I’ve produced – there are now over 100 videos and scores available to patrons.
Three pieces now available from Universal Edition’s website
You can hear all the works and also view the sheet music too
I re-started my YouTube channel in lockdown in 2021 and took it upon myself to analyse the whole of the Star Wars I: Phantom Menace. You might ask why – but there is an enormous amount of intricate writing that John Williams explored in the score: incredible new themes and iconic musical moments. I also wanted to explore how he elevated the score to a film that the vast majority of the fanbase thought was disappointing. I don’t just look at Phantom but also explore other cues with reductions and pitch analysis (looking at pitch sets, octatonic, hexatonic, Hungarian minor scales etc).
